A Miracle in the Making
Have you ever wondered what a miracle looks like? At Crossroads at Park Place, we see them regularly — and one of the most remarkable has been the growth of our partnership with Harris Health System.
From Monthly to Weekly
What began as a monthly mobile clinic visit has grown into a weekly presence at Crossroads. Harris Health recognized that our guests — many of whom have no other access to healthcare — needed more than a once-a-month visit. The partnership grew organically, driven by the clear and urgent need.
Dr. LaResa Ridge
In September, Dr. LaResa Ridge began attending every Thursday, bringing medical care directly to the people who need it most. On her very first day, she saw 13 clients — people who might otherwise have gone without medical attention.
Think about that for a moment. Thirteen people in a single day who received healthcare they would not have otherwise had access to. That is what a miracle looks like.
Healthcare Where It’s Needed
For many of our guests, a trip to a hospital or clinic is simply not possible. Transportation barriers, lack of insurance, and the daily challenges of homelessness all stand in the way. By bringing healthcare directly to Crossroads, Harris Health removes those barriers entirely.
Services provided through the mobile clinic include:
- Primary care consultations
- Chronic disease management
- Prescription assistance
- Referrals to specialists
- Health education
A Growing Partnership
This partnership is a testament to what happens when organizations come together around a shared mission. Harris Health sees the same dignity in our guests that we do, and together we are making a real difference.
