We are one organisation on one block. The need around us is far larger than what we can meet, and it is worth seeing plainly. The figures below come from the agencies that count and measure it — not from us.

Every number here is sourced and dated. When the agencies publish new figures, this page changes. If you want to know what we did with what we were given, that is a different question, and it has its own page.

These figures describe the need across our region. They are not our impact numbers — they are the context we work in.

  • 3,325

    people were experiencing homelessness in the Houston area on a single night in January 2025

  • 1,282

    of them were unsheltered — sleeping outside, in cars, or somewhere not meant for habitation. That figure rose 15.8% in a year

  • 18.2%

    of Harris County residents are food insecure — about 863,820 people

  • 24.6%

    of Harris County children are food insecure — about 306,140 children, up from 20.1% in 2019
