Remembering Margo Montgomery
It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Margo Montgomery, one of the founding mothers of Crossroads at Park Place.
Margo worked alongside the three founding ministers — Rev. McGill, Rev. Meeker Williams, and Rev. Gantz — beginning in 2000 to turn the vision of serving our homeless neighbors into reality. Her tireless dedication, compassion, and faith were instrumental in building Crossroads from the ground up.
A Legacy of Service
Margo believed in the dignity of every person who walked through our doors. She was among those who conducted the original informal survey of people experiencing homelessness in Southeast Houston — the survey that revealed the number one need was simply to be clean. That finding shaped everything Crossroads became.
Her spirit lives on in every shower we provide, every meal we serve, and every act of kindness our volunteers extend to our guests.
